The art and artefacts in this exhibition illustrate the different ways in which individuals have expressed their religious beliefs across different cultures and art forms.
Some objects are important religious objects that mark important historical events for specific religious communities and for specific individuals. Some objects, like Rangoli can be regarded as “prayers” by their practitioners, while others are gifts offered from one community to another, in recognition of their shared beliefs. Other gifts are between family members, passed down through the generations. All carry with them history, hope and goodwill.
